Bloggin’ it up again! Not gonna waste another minute on my thinking. I’m nowhere near the end. The rest will sadly soon begin! (My apologies to Steve Dorff and John Bettis)

Okay, so I DID have one more Monday off and that’s today. Sweet. These three-day work weeks have been awesome. Four-day weeks will still be good though.

I suppose the biggest thing to happen to me over the last seven days is I started to play Pokemon Go. I downloaded the app the week before just to see what it was like and I honestly wasn’t sure that I’d ever play. Then on Tuesday I was looking and it told me there was a Jigglypuff nearby. That apparently is what it took me to get off my rump and go outside. I walked around for about an hour and found several Pokemon (but sadly not the Jigglypuff I went out for). It turns out I’m in a decent location with two Pokestops a street down from my house and a third only three streets down from those. I managed to get a couple of days’ use out of Pokevision before it got shut down (and I did end up finding a Jigglypuff). Yesterday I went out for the first time without it and I was able to find a Clefairy and a Pikachu so there’s that. It does seem like a lot more aimless walking hoping to get lucky though. I’ve walked 19 kilometers (that the game tracked) so far and just reached level 9 yesterday as well, though I have yet to commit to a faction. My instinct is to go Yellow (get it?) but it seems like the most difficult road to choose as it’s the least popular choice and it means I won’t really get to train at any gyms in the near future.

Other than walking around hunting for Pokemon, I did get some gaming in with Fab and Lyne on Friday. We had time to fit in four different games. I’d say The Hare and the Tortoise and Pandemic: The Cure went over the best. Immediately after coming up just short of winning Pandemic, Fab insisted we give it a second go, which is always a good sign. We pulled off the win too which was great. It was my first time playing with the correct rules and it was definitely more challenging.

Funnies readers may have seen the first of my cartoon bear ripo–err tributes last week. A few more will show up this week. It’s an idea that sounded better in my head. Actually drawing all these different characters in a confined space was a challenge. I’d say I’m about halfway through the story arc now so bear with me (oh the puns!)

That’s it for this week. Have a good seven and we’ll do this all again next Monday. Carja V.
