Howdy friends! Welcome to the first Monday Blog of 2016. Let’s get to it shall we?

It was my first day back at work today. You know I’d gotten used to going to bed when I wanted and waking up when I wanted. Last night and this morning were an adjustment. I almost overslept because I lost track of how many times I’d hit the snooze button. I’ll need to get back in that rhythm. Work itself was fine. Things are still quiet from the holidays so I didn’t feel any undue pressure.

On Saturday night I got a message from my friend Mike and he asked me what I was doing on Sunday. Lucky for me I didn’t have any plans because he invited me to join him and some friends for an afternoon of gaming. We played a campaign mission of Imperial Assault where the good guys won and a game of Marvel Legendary where the good guys lost horribly. Even with the loss, it was a great way to cap off my holidays. It was the first time I’d gamed with my friend Steve in over a year so it was really cool. Hopefully it won’t take another year for us to get together again.

Other than that, there were a few holiday get-togethers over the past week and a LOT of DDO. I’m now at level 19 and confident that I will eventually reach the level cap. Levels 17 through 19 went by really fast with the new content from the expansions. I really enjoyed the quest storylines.

Even with all that gaming, I got all my drawing done (even if I had to draw my Bandit Baby strip last night before going to bed). I built my mash-up buffer back up with The Force Awakens pieces which I’m really glad about. I like the peace of mind that the buffer gives me. If anything were to happen and I wouldn’t be able to draw for a while, I still have content to put up. The hardest part about the Bandit Baby strip was figuring out what happens next. I had nowhere left to go in the little CBC tribute story and no idea how to transition out of it. I thought about it all week and couldn’t decide what to do. Finally with the prospect of falling a strip behind looming overhead I came up with a conclusion and was able to stay on schedule. I guess a little pressure is a good thing for the creative process. You’ll of course see the results in three weeks from Friday.

I got a Dungeon Master’s Screen for Christmas from Fab. I think I now have a crew for my eventual campaign too. It’ll be a slow burn but I hope we’ll have a good time together. I’ll keep you all posted.

That’s all for this week. Have a good seven and we’ll do this all again next Monday. Carja V
