Once again we find ourselves on the edge of the precipice. That time where we discuss the week that was and the week that will be. Actually, I don’t have a lot to say about this upcoming week. I’ve already mentioned on several occasions that the new Pickle Patch Bandits feature starts this Friday. I’ll have more to say on that after the first couple of strips go up.
So, Imperial Assault. I spent the week looking forward to game night and it didn’t disappoint. We played the first two missions of the campaign on Saturday night and I have to say I’m happy with the game. I was playing the Empire against three players controlling the full complement of four characters (to allow for the inclusion of a fourth player at any time). I won the first mission and lost the second. Both could have gone either way with a few choices going the other way.
There are a LOT of things to remember. We got a number of things wrong but nothing that I feel radically shifted the balance. The outcome of both missions likely would have been the same had we gotten those points right.
I was up until 3am reading up on the game afterwards which is a normally a good sign. If I care to learn more on how to play the game, I must want to play it again, right? Will we actually go through the entire campaign? Time will tell.
In Skylanders news, my friend Chantal helped hook me up with the Dark Expansion Pack (they were out of the Light one). I haven’t tried it yet because I spent most of my time on Saturday prepping for Imperial Assault and Sunday I had other things to do. The figure looks sweet though.
