Happy 2012 everyone!
2011 was a great year creatively for me. After a long gestating period, Age of Animus finally became a reality, though not in the form I had originally conceived (a board game). I can only hope that the project will grow as 2012 grows and someday beyond that I’ll get to that big board game I dreamed of. For 2012 I’ll settle for the card game I’m working on.
I usually don’t do much for New Year’s, but this year, I got invited to spend the evening with Fab’s in-laws. It was a different experience, with much joyous singing and celebration. Our family would get together, but beyond the great food, we’d just sit around and talk and play games organized by my grandfather (that’s where I get it from!) I didn’t feel completely comfortable as these were people I don’t know all that well (Fab’s in-laws, not my family) but I had a good time and I appreciate being included.
So that was New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Day, I was again invited, to Fab’s this time, for a supper with him, his mom, his fiance, and our friend Frank. The food was again delicious, and we had fun playing Karaoke Revolution and Rummoli until about 1am (since I didn’t have to go in to work today!)
Now my holiday vacation is winding down (I go back to work on Wednesday) so I don’t expect to be going out much, just relaxing and trying to get back to a sane sleep schedule (I woke up past noon today).
So again, Happy New Year to all you Age of Animus readers out there! Thank you for your support and hope to see you all throughout 2012!
