Being sick is no fun. On Wednesday I had a scratchy throat. On Thursday I started getting a running nose. On Friday I was feeling really stuffed up and kinda slow. As I finished giving the training I was scheduled to give, I decided to use some of my accumulated time to finish early. On Saturday, I ventured out of the house for a few hours and came home feeling exhausted. I spent most of the rest of the weekend sleeping and today I’m home as I finish getting over my cold. There are fluid build ups I could do without, but tomorrow I should be fine.
I found Intellivision cartridges at Comic-Con so for the first time in years I hooked up my Intellivision to my television to play. My HD TV did not seem to enjoy the experience so much. It’s sad that I might have to get an old TV just to play old school games on. I have fond memories playing with that machine. I was late in getting a Nintendo and I played Intellivision (actually it was a Tandyvision clone) way into the late eighties. I once found the Intellivoice module for $20 at Canadian Tire. We lent the machine to a person who shall remain nameless who never returned it. I found an actual Intellivision along with a bunch of cartridges at a neighbour’s garage sale. I don’t have an Intellivoice module for it though. Maybe someday I’ll buy one on eBay.
September is almost over and some of you blog readers may be wondering “Hey! I thought you said you had something new for Fridays in September!” And I did. However, I wanted to finish the coming home from the Crimson Coast storyline before I started it. The last strip of that arc goes up on October 4th, so you’ll have to wait until October 5th for that. I wish I could say that I was able to advance in that project with all that added time, but the sad truth is that combined with Comic-Con and trying to maintain my lead on Funnies and mash-ups, I haven’t worked on it in a long time. I’ll have to set aside one day per week to work on it.
Before I close, I have a question to ask you blog readers: What is your favorite old-school video game (Atari/Colecovision/Intellivision)?

Atari 2600 – Joust
Intellivision – Sea Battle
Coleco – Gateway to Apshai
