It’s that time again. Monday. Blog time. Let’s get it done.

We got more snow last week. A LOT more snow. I’ve officially had enough. Sadly I’m not the one in charge though and we’ll be getting more before winter’s done.

The thought crossed my mind though…when did I stop loving winter? I remember having a lot of fun playing outside in the snow. There’s NONE of that now. I guess it disappeared with that sense of play. Play is different now. It’s still fun while it lasts. It’s just different.

Changing gears, Elimination Chamber was last night. Due to an injury, WWE had to pivot and change the main event less than a week before the show. The change was done so well though and I think the result was probably better than the original plan. No offense to Mustafa Ali, but the fans were so much more into Kofi Kingston. In the space of two matches, they got you to really want to see Kofi win the big one after eleven years. It was really good storytelling and the match was great too.

That’s all I’ve got for this week. See you all next Monday for some more thoughts and musings.

MONDAY! Need I say more? Well, maybe I should. This being a blog and all.

Several updates went into effect at work today. So of course, the systems were down for a good part of the morning. As a result, I did non-system related work this morning. Not the most productive, but it needed to be done so it’s done.

We finished the penultimate chapter in our Too Many Bones campaign yesterday. I died on turn 1 of the final battle but not before giving a crucial heal to my fellow heroes which kept them alive long enough to pull out the win. Whew…so next time we get to go on to the final battle to see if we win or lose the campaign. Duster, we’re coming for you!

They announced a Cardcaptor Sakura expansion for Weiss Schwarz, a CCG that, to date, has not had much appeal to me, but I love me some Cardcaptoring, so I’m looking into it. It’s probably a rabbit hole I should stay out of.

I watched the first episode of Star Wars Resistance this weekend. It didn’t hook me like Rebels did, but I’ll check a few more episodes out before I pass final judgement. Dave Filoni has earned that much for his past work.

I guess that’s it for this week. Have a good seven and we’ll do this again next Monday. Carja V.

Well maybe not so manic, but definitely a Monday and I sure wish it was a Sunday because it wasn’t a fun day. Not a terrible day, but not fun either. The weekend is (almost) always better.

There was no blog last week. I intended to type one and just forgot. I remembered as I was going to bed and just decided to skip the week. I hope you all can forgive me.

Saturday was Shawicon 4 (I think it was the fourth). It was a nice time. It felt a little smaller than last year. I think last year’s guests were a homerun for the area. This year’s were much more niche and it showed. The highlight for me was Road Warrior Animal and I’m not even that big of a Road Warriors fan. He was engaging and entertaining. Ohhhhhhhh what a rush!

We pulled out a squeaker in Too Many Bones on Sunday. The final boss was quite tough and only I made it through. But that’s all we needed. We also successfully made our way through two books of the Hogwarts Battle deckbuilder. A good day for gaming to be sure.

Somehow with all that going on, I managed to get my strips done. Fortunately this stretch of the story is pretty easy with just two characters to draw. I thought I’d get some done on Friday night…nope, I got a late invite to play at Les Dés Truqués. Saturday morning? I was feeling a little sluggish but I got most of one strip drawn. Saturday night? Nope, I actually fell asleep while doing my daily Looney Tunes quests on the couch. I was late in getting up on Sunday so I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked before Too Many Bones, but I did get the first strip finished and most of the second. I finished up when I got home from the game. No Super Bowl for me (not that I was all that interested).

So that’s all the news for this week. Have a good seven and we’ll do this all again next Monday. Carja V.

Hey there. It’s a blog and you’re reading it!

Hoo boy! Has it been cold lately! We’re in the middle of a frigid snap. And to top it off, there’s been snow too! It’s an unusual combo. Usually it’ll be a little milder when it snows. Some article I read online said it hasn’t been this bad (for both) since 1920. That’s just crazy to think about. Nearly a hundred years since we’ve had as much snow during as cold a period.

Saturday night we braved the cold for some FCL wrestling. The in-ring product has been getting better, but I haven’t been feeling it as much. I saw my friend Gilles hobbling after his match (a successful defense of the tag titles). These things happen regularly, but it was so much worse than it seemed. It turns out he broke his ankle and his fibula and had to be operated on today. Well wishes of a speedy recovery go out to him.

On Sunday I mostly stayed inside, save for a necessary foray to do some shoveling and the less necessary foray out to the restaurant for some takeout that followed the shoveling. Fearing the cold, I wore my spring jacket inside my winter coat and it did the trick. My torso did not feel the cold at all. My fingers, feet and face did, but it wasn’t as bad as I feared.

I had a horrible night’s sleep last night and I was in no mental condition to work today so I took it easy. I’ve been in and out of consciousness all day. I hope to sleep better tonight.

That’s about it for this week. Have a good seven and we’ll do this all again next Monday. Carja V.

Commence blog!

Last week was kinda rough as far as work goes. I went back after two weeks off and within two days I felt as if all the goodness from a long rest had completely evaporated. I’m already in a work funk. Not the best feeling in the world. Oh well. Gotta push through it.

Big Oonch’s new story arc started last week. It all starts with a mysterious letter and it ends up…somewhere other than Bree! Oh my! Time for a little more world building perhaps? Maaaaaybe!

Food sounds good. I believe I will food. That’s all for this week. Have a good seven and we’ll do this all again next Monday. Carja V.
