Hey it’s already Thursday. How did that happen? Oh well, here’s the mash-up you should have seen yesterday.

Druids are neat. They’re one of my preferred classes in fact. They use magic, but they also have some fairly unique abilities like being able to transform into elementals and the like (other classes can transform as well, but it seems to be a bigger part of being a druid). They also have (or had, I don’t remember if they still do in 5th edition) animal companions, which I dig. The last druid I played had a fox companion (surprise!). One of my sadder memories from that campaign was my fox dying in a fire trap. Doh!

Here’s Deema dressed as a druid. It’s a contrast to her role as tinkerer in the series.

That’s all for this week. A new class arrives next week. Wednesday in fact. Unless it isn’t. Have a great week.

The week progresses! Yes, she progresses. Soon, it will cease to be Wednesday and we will be one day closer to Friday. But for now, let us have fun with a mash-up.

Clerics are the life blood of any party. I can scarcely even imagine going on an adventure without one. Healing is that important. In DDO you can buy hirelings from almost every class, but if you’re soloing, you really need a cleric to keep you alive (unless you’re a cleric yourself). I would be hard-pressed to tell you the names of most of my D&D characters. One that stands out clearly in my mind is Melina the cleric. I decided to give her an attitude and really played up the snottiness. She was engaged in a bitter rivalry with Fab’s NPC party member(Curse you Oonchers!). Well, she was bitter about it. Oonchers just said “Well” a lot and went about his business. I tried to be as creative as possible with her spells and had a lot of fun playing her. If I’m not mistaken, she was the last D&D character I played as we haven’t had a campaign since that one ended.

I picked the cleric class for Big Oonch because I figured I could use a helmet to hide his eyes. Big Oonch named after Fab’s cat who was also the namesake of an NPC who was a rival to my favorite cleric character. Coincidence? I think so! Other than the shield being held at a ridiculously awkward angle, I like the piece.

Cleric

That’s all for this week. Next week, we continue our delve (a dungeon delve if you will) with another class. Find out which next Wednesday!

Mash-ups! You want ’em? I got ’em…well one. And here it is.

So if I was going to play a magic-wielding character, I think I’d be more inclined to play a sorcerer. Based on what I’ve seen, their magic seems a little less restrictive when it comes to having to memorize spells and the like. I also like that they use Charisma as their principal stat and that they get familiars. Overall, they just seem cooler to me.

Here’s Cyran in Sorcerer garb. To give a better look at his costume, I’ve included a version without the magical glow effect on his paw. It occurs to me looking at him, that the glow should make it so that the insides of his boots are in the light while the outsides are dark, but that’s my inability to keep the light sources straight in my head. Overall though, I’m happy with the piece. I just like his expression.

That’s all for this week. What class will next Wednesday bring? Find out then!

Well if it isn’t Wednesday I don’t know what day it is! The calendar confirms my theory so it must be time for a mash-up.

One of my biggest concerns with playing a wizard, or mage if you weel (again, RIP Dusty), is how fragile they are when starting out. Or at least that’s how they’ve always seemed to me traditionally. They’d cast their one or two spells and then have to hide behind the physical characters for the rest of the adventure. I’m sure there’s been a lot more balancing out in later editions but my old judgement has kept me from ever playing one.

Here’s Zoë getting ready to cast a spell. Check out her spell book hanging at the ready from her belt. It’s a pretty colourful design if I do say so myself.

Wizard

That’s all for this week. Someday I might play a wizard, but most likely I’ll try next week’s class first. Find out which one next Wednesday.

My work week is over! Woo! Let’s end it with a mash-up!

Hey, how about a class that specializes in unarmed combat? That sounds cool, right? That’s the idea behind the Monk class. The class as presented feels out of place to me in D&D. That’s because the look is inspired by Tibetan monks, while the fantasy setting suggests a Benedictine monk look would be more appropriate. But that would seem more like a cleric than a martial artist so I understand why they went in that direction.

Here’s Skitter ready to go out adventuring as a monk. There’s something off about the piece to me. It is what it is.

That’s all for this week. What class will we visit next week? Find out next Wednesday
