It’s Thursday night as I write this, but it’ll be Friday morning when this goes live. Fridays are for flashbacks. Let’s flash!

Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the star ship Enterprise, its continuing mission to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone before.

That’s right. It’s Star Trek time again. And here we have Big Oonch as Geordi LaForge. As always, click on a picture to enlarge it.

Here’s the comparison with the original piece. Back in the early days, I thought Oonch should have two little hairs sticking out. Now I like him “bald”. The long tunic versions of costumes didn’t work as well for Oonch and Cyran since they’re so short and we never saw their legs.

Trek-Oonch-TaNNext week, things will happen and pictures will go up. Which pictures though? We’ll all know in seven days time! Have a good weekend!

It’s Wednesday and my workplace is open (this was an issue yesterday due to the power going out). Time to post a mash-up and then go to work.

When there’s trouble, you know what to do…
CALL CYBORG!!!
He can shoot a rocket from his shoe…
CUZ HE’S CYBORG!!!

It’s Barnaby’s turn to shine this week (cuz he’s metal, get it?)! Sometimes the proportions of my characters make it challenging to reproduce poses. Most character designs (including the Teen Titans) start wide at the shoulder and narrow at the waist. My characters have no shoulders to speak of and wide waists. If the character I’m covering has shoulder pads or something along those lines (like Cyborg does) it makes it a little easier. As always, you can click on the picture to enlarge it.

That’s all for this week. Next week’s Titan will be the leader of the bunch. If you’ve seen this Monday’s blog, you know who it is. If not, you could go and check the blog out, cuz I sure ain’t gonna spoil it here! 😉

Howdy folks! It’s Friday morning and I’m off work. How wonderful is that? So wonderful that I decided to share a flashback with you! “Uh, Carja, you share a flashback with us EVERY Friday…” Well sure, but today I mean it!

This week is all about DC Comics. Wednesday we looked at the new Teen Titans theme and today it’s a flashback of the most colourful franchise in the DC Universe. (As always, click on any picture to enlarge it.)

In brightest day, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight,
Let those who worship evil’s might,
Beware my power, Green Lantern’s light!

Lantern-G

Green Rich IS Green Lantern! His iron will reigns supreme. But wait! There’s more!

In blackest day, in brightest night,
Beware your fears made into light
Let those who try to stop what’s right,
Burn like my power… Sinestro’s might!

Lantern-Y

Yellow Rich knows fear is his ally so he’s joined the Sinestro Corps! And yet still …

For hearts long lost and full of fright,
For those alone in blackest night,
Accept our ring and join our fight,
Love conquers all– With Violet Light!

Lantern-V

Full of love, Purple Rich wields the power of the Star Sapphires! We follow that up with…

In fearful day, in raging night,
With strong hearts full, our souls ignite,
When all seems lost in the War of Light,
Look to the stars– For hope burns bright!

Lantern-B

Blue Rich is ever hopeful! He’s the perfect ambassador for the Blue Lantern Corps. And then there’s…

With blood and rage of crimson red,
We fill men’s souls with darkest dread,
And twist your minds to pain and hate,
We’ll burn you all, that is your fate!

Lantern-R

Red Rich has shown that his rage burns brightest as a Red Lantern. But then…

Tor lorek san, bor nakka mur,
Natromo faan tornek wot ur,
Ter lantern ker lo Abin Sur,
Taan lek lek nok — Formorrow Sur!

Lantern-I

Who KNOWS what goes through the mind of the Indigo Tribe? Indigo Rich does! And then finally…

This power is mine, this is my light,
Be it in bright of day or black of night,
I lay claim to all that falls within my sight,
To take what I want, that is my right!

Lantern-O

Orange Rich is the greediest of the bunch and so he joins the other Orange Lanterns for lunch!

The Green Lantern costume was pretty simple to draw so I decided to use all the time I saved drawing it (and more) to colour Rich as a member of each of the different Lantern Corps other than Black (because I don’t do zombies) and White (because I didn’t do Black). It made for a LOT of layers. Still, I wanted to do at least one Lantern construct. That’s why I added one more layer so that Green Rich could wield Hal Jordan’s patented boxing glove construct.

I’ll conclude this week’s flashback with the comparison to the original Green Lantern mashup.

That’s all for this week, next week Sass is going to teach us that it’s stealing that’s half the battle. See you all there!
