Friday brings with it so many good things, principally the weekend, but also, of course, flashbacks! You’re reading the write-up to this week’s flashback right now in fact. Awesome, right?

Todrick is back as Loki. This time around he’s wearing the costume from Thor 2: The Dark World, so I guess it isn’t so much an Avengers flashback as it is a Marvel movie universe flashback. Well, it’s a character who was in Avengers so I still say it works.

Greetings flashback fans! Welcome to another edition of Flashback Friday! Let’s dive right in!

S is for the wisdom of Solomon
H is for the strength of Hercules
A is for the stamina of Atlas
Z is for the power of Zeus
A is for the courage of Achilles
M is for the speed of Mercury

When young Billy Batson says the magic word, he’s granted these powers and transforms from a 12-year-old boy into Captain Marvel (who for legal reasons is now often just called Shazam). Now Big Oonch does too! Here he is wearing the New 52 version of the costume which I chose mostly because of the hood.

League of Legends – Tryndamere

Hello and welcome to the Wednesday Mash-up. You will know it is time to turn the page when you hear R2-D2 beep like this. *beep* Let’s begin now!

The League of Legends theme continues this week. As always click on the picture to enlarge it.

For Barnaby I wanted someone who looked big and strong. That’s why I went with Tryndamere. The problem of course is that Tryndamere is so massive and Barnaby, while tall, is still pretty narrow at the shoulders. It turned out alright.

Flashback Friday – Roadblock

Happy Friday everybody! Time for another flashback! Enjoy!

“Truck full of good eats huh?”
“What’s it to you, Jack?”
“I’m hungry, I’m a gourmet chef and the name’s not Jack, it’s ROADBLOCK! I’m with G.I.JOE!”

This is a scene from G.I.JOE: The Revenge of Cobra mini-series. I couldn’t help quoting the last line repeatedly as I was drawing today’s flashback. Remember to click on pictures to enlarge them.

So yeah, Barnaby is here as Roadblock, a fun character who went on to be played by The Rock in the second live-action Joe movie. I’m more partial to the original animated series myself and of course, all the flashbacks are based on the original card art. On a side note, Barnaby always gets the huge honkin’ guns.

And here’s the comparison to the original mash-up. But wait, those aren’t the same characters! That’s right. The first time around, Barnaby was Bazooka, a character I chose because he’s not the brightest bulb on the Joe Christmas tree. The pose from Bazooka’s card art was frustrating me and to be honest, Bazooka is one of my least favorite Joes, so I just decided to switch characters. Sorry Bazooka fans.
