Good time period to you! Welcome back to the Wednesday Mash-up! Let’s have some fun.

In the years since Return of the Jedi, Han Solo lost the Millenium Falcon. He’s been doing whatever odd jobs he can to keep himself afloat while he and Chewbacca continue their search for the starship. This sets up the line from the trailer where he says, “Chewie, we’re home.” Of all the characters from the original trilogy, we get to spend the most time with Han and Chewie as they begrudgingly (at first) help Rey, Finn and BB-8 with their mission.

Zoë’s here to reprise her role as Han. Her clothes are very reminiscent of what Han wore in The Empire Strikes Back, only her jacket is brown and made of leather instead of blue fabric. It’s a simple look, but it works.

Han

That’s all for this week. Next week we take a look at the leader of the Resistance. See you next Wednesday for the reveal.

Welcome back to the Wednesday Mash-up. Let’s have some fun with it.

When Han leans Rey and Finn to Maz’s place on Takodana, he warns them not to stare. We don’t really get a pay-off to that warning. We do learn that she’s Force sensitive and has a keen sense of observation (must be the goggles she wears). She refers to Chewbacca as her boyfriend (fiance in the French dub) but they don’t share any scenes together. She’s also over a 1000 years old so Yoda is no longer the oldest character in the saga.

Here’s Deema dressed as Maz. Looking at it now, I can see that I didn’t keep the lighting consistent at all. The light hits her face from the left (her left) but the rest of her body from the right. I’ll need to keep an eye on that in the future.

Maz

That’s all for the week. A new Force Awakens mash-up awaits you next Wednesday. Come back for the reveal.

The Mash-up is coming! The Mash-up is coming! *ahem* The Mash-up is here.

Captain Phasma is the stormtrooper commander on board General Hux’s Star Destroyer. She wears a distinctive shiny suit of stormtrooper armor with a cape. To be perfectly honest, I don’t know how much more character development went into writing Phasma because that’s about all there is to her in the movie. She barely speaks or does much of anything. She looks cool though. That would make her this trilogy’s Boba Fett in my opinion.

Shiny armor eh? That sounds like a job for Sass! Here’s our felonious feline in full stormtrooper commander armor. As always, you can click on the picture for a close-up view.

Phasma

That’s all for this week. Believe it or else, there’s still some more Force Awakens fun coming in the next few weeks. Check back every Wednesday for more.

Mash-up Time is here! Happiness and cheer! Fun for all, that fans will call, their favorite time of week (okay the end didn’t rhyme).

General Hux is the commander of Starkiller Base. He has an antagonistic relationship with Kylo Ren, much like it was said that Moff Jerjerrod was supposed to have with Darth Vader in an earlier draft of Return of the Jedi. He’s the most over-the-top character villain in the movie and not really in a good way. While many didn’t like Kylo Ren for being too emo, I didn’t care for Hux because he reminded me a little bit too much of a certain historical figure who shall remain nameless.

Here’s Barnaby as General Hux. It’s probably the weakest piece in the set so I’m bumping it up in the order to get it out of the way. Sorry Barnaby fans. You can click on the picture to see it full-sized.

Hux

That’s all for this week. Some more Force Awakens is coming next week. See you next Wednesday!

Hey folks! It’s Wednesday and that means it’s mash-up time. Time to get to it.

Kylo Ren is the leader of the Knights of Ren. Who are the Knights of Ren? We didn’t get an answer to that in the movie. What we do know is that he was corrupted by Supreme Leader Snoke and destroyed Luke Skywalker’s fledgling Jedi Order. Luke went into hiding after that and the galaxy went into a downward spiral. Kylo Ren is powerful but unbalanced. He wants to continue the mission he believes Darth Vader started years before him but doesn’t know if he can. Snoke gives him one final task to perform to show his dedication to the Dark Side. Unfortunately, he succeeds.

Kylo Ren’s mask obscures his eyes. That sounds like a costume for Big Oonch. The nature of the costume means that other than the fact he’s short, you can’t really tell that it’s Oonch in there. But Kylo is one of the main characters of the movie so I couldn’t leave him out (though my friends would probably have preferred if I had 🙂 )

Kylo

That’s all for this week. More from The Force Awakens next Wednesday. See you then!
