244 – Some Time Later, Back Home…
Howdy folks and welcome to Flashback Friday!
I’ve only been drawing mash-ups since March of last year, but I’ve made a lot of progress since that time. So much so, that when I compare the mash-ups I draw today to the ones I did back then, I’m really disappointed that I didn’t do a better job on some of my favorite subjects. Just to see how far I’d come, I thought why not redo the first mash-up I did, which was Todrick as Aquafox (Aquaman)? I love alliterative names and so Flashback Friday was born. Anyway, that’s the background, let’s get to the picture, right?
I decided to go with the New 52 version of Aquaman. The difference is mainly in the belt.
And for comparative purposes, here’s the original and the new drawing, side by side.
Okay, so that’s it for now. I’ll have a new flashback next Friday. Have a good weekend!

I declare this Wednesday to be forever known as Sheep Stew Wednesday! A day where sheep stew is to be celebrated if not necessarily eaten! Oh yeah, and there’s a new mash-up today.
It’s week 3 of the steampunk theme. Let’s get to it! Click on the picture to see a closeup of it.
As promised last week, here’s Todrick. I cheated here and added an old-timey contraption to better sell that this is a steampunk piece. There aren’t a lot of elements on Todrick himself that sell that. This is another piece that wildly diverged from the picture I was using as inspiration. I don’t think I actually used anything from it. I’ve been pretty conservative with the boy steampunk designs. I have a few more to get a little wilder. I like how the green elements of Todrick’s clothes turned out. I didn’t want all the guys to be wearing top hats (none of them have so far). I like the newsie hat on Todrick.
That’s all for this week. Next week is my favorite mash-up so far ever!
