Hey it’s Friday! Another week has come and is about to go! That’s always good news. And what better way to celebrate than to post a flashback? I can’t think of one, can you?

Guile is one of two American fighters from Street Fighter II (the other being Ken). His military fatigues suggest that he’s in the armed forces. For some reason, he was probably my least favorite character in Street Fighter II (well maybe after Blanka). His trademark is his spiked hair.

Here’s Red Rich, or rather Green Rich, stepping in as Guile. I don’t have a whole lot to say about this piece. It’s solid.

Here’s a comparison to the original. The frontal pose of the original showed the costume more, but I like the dimensions better on the second. And just now, as I’m posting this, I realize that I forgot to include the American flag tattoo on his right arm in the new piece. The old piece’s hair makes me wonder where his ears are. I corrected that in the new one as I can believe his ears are actually somewhere in all that hair.

That’s it for this week. Have a good weekend everybody and see you all again next week for more fun stuff!

Hello and welcome back to Flashback Friday where Friday is full of deja vu. And that’s a good thing!

Cammy was added to Street Fighter II: The New Warriors. Why they didn’t just make the move to Street Fighter III is beyond me. She’s British special forces…or something like that.

Here’s Zoë returning as Cammy. The biggest challenge was fitting the beret on her head. Once again I had to resort to covering up one ear with it.

Here’s the comparison to the original. This is one of the pieces I was most looking forward to redoing. The dimensions of the original were just terrible. The idea of giving Zoë abs didn’t really work out either.

That’s all for this week. More fighting in the streets next week.

Hello and good Friday morning to all the Flashback fans out there. This is the one post that may go up on time this week, barring any silliness on my part. Enjoy!

In the original Japanese, M Bison and Vega’s names are inverted. For some reason, Capcom thought the name M Bison worked better for the end boss. I don’t know that I’d ever be able to reach him, let alone beat him on the regular mode. I have managed to beat him on Easy though.

Big Oonch returns as M Bison. The biggest challenge was the right arm. For some reason, it just kept looking too thin. It’s still a little thinner than I’d like, but it’s much better than it started.

Here’s a comparison to the original. This was still in the time where I tried not to show Oonch’s or Cyran’s legs (to sell that they were short). You also see how thin the arms could turn out.

That’s all for this week. Some more fighting in the street comes at you next Friday. Don’t miss it!

It’s Friday morning! That means the work week is coming to a close, but more importantly, it’s flashback time! Click on a pic! You’ll see it big!

Chun-li was THE female character in Street Fighter II…until The New Challengers came out where they added Cammy. She kicked butt…literally. Her specialty was a flurry of kicks that was pretty much the easiest of all the special moves to pull off, at least for me.

Here’s Nektara as Chun-li. That kicking pose is quite something to draw considering my characters’ dimensions.

Here’s the comparison to the original. Oddly enough, the posing might be a little better on the original, but the overall effect is of course much better in the new piece. The colouring is more on model for Nektara for sure.

That’s all for this week. More fighting in the street next week.

Hello and good morning Flashback Fans. It’s time for what brought us all here. So let’s do it! Click on pics to see ’em bigger.

Ryu is nominally the main character of the Street Fighter franchise…except the live-action movie. That honor went to Guile since Jean-Claude Van Damme isn’t Asian.

Here’s Todrick as Ryu. Red gloves and a red headband on a red character wouldn’t have been my first choice, but I wanted to stay true to the character. I like how the hadoken energy ball effect turned out.

Here’s the comparison to the original piece. The biggest improvements, other than the smoother lines which is always a given, are the ears and the limbs.

That’s all for this week. A new flashback walks among us next Friday!
