Hey hey folks! It’s time for the Wednesday Mash-up again. This week, we conclude our look at Final Fantasy IX. This turned out to be one of my favorite sets. I hope you liked them too. As always, click to embiggen.

Here Sass is as General Beatrix. Beatrix isn’t in the main cast. As such, she didn’t get a full body render pose like the other characters. Finding good reference material was therefore more problematic. I had to go with screen captures from the game. This was not ideal because you didn’t get to see her whole body. The pose is from the final cut scene in the game where you only get to see her from the belt up. The lower half was taken from someone’s cosplay costume.I have no idea how authentic it is.

Red Rich gets to play the baddie, Kuja. Again, I had to go with different sources to base this piece on. Kuja is featured in Final Fantasy Dissidia (a fighting game on the Sony PSP) so I could have used artwork from that game, but I didn’t feel it fit the aesthetic of the original game as well. Kuja’s lower body gear is…special. I tried to tame it down here.

At the end of the game, Kuja undergoes a transformation. He goes into what the game calls Trance mode. The last piece of the set is therefore Red Rich in Trance mode.

That’s all for this week. I’ve been mostly focused on the Age of Animus RPG these last couple of weeks as I gear up for a test run on March 2nd. I have no mash-ups drawn for next week so far beyond a first sketch which I wasn’t really feeling. Unless I get more jazzed for the idea, there’s a good chance there won’t be any mash-ups next week. We’ll see how it goes. Have a good week y’all!

Hey folks! Welcome back to the Wednesday Mash-up. This week instead of mash-ups, I’m presenting straight up drawings of the Animus Funnies cast in the more detailed style that I’ve developed for the mash-ups. Let’s get to it, shall we? As always, you’re invited to click to embiggen the pictures.

I’ve decided to do this chronologically, so we’ll start with the first character to be introduced on the site, Cyran. He’s working on some tinker project or another.

Next came Sass and Mouser. Here she is holding one of her beloved Shinies while Mouser zips around with her.

And last for this week, is Red Rich. Here he is available in all three flavours, Red, Blue and Green. This is just a question of creating a layer for each colour of his costume and then creating another layer for each colour for the shading.

That’s all for this week. Three more next week!

Hello everybody and welcome to the Wednesday Mash-up. This week, we’re continuing with the holiday theme. So, ho ho ho, let’s go! As always, click to embiggen the pictures.

Barnaby the Red-Nosed Reinbear has finally been invited to play reinbear games. In this case, the game is kickball.

Sasseneeza Scrooge transformed overnight from a cranky miser to a cat full of the Christmas spirit, eager to share her Shinies with everybody, but particularly Mini Mouser.

Last are the carollers three, Red Rich, Nektara and Todrick. Drawn on separate layers again, I’m able to given them to you individually and as a group.

Happy holidays everybody. Next week, the Wednesday Mash-up will be off. It’ll be back in the new year with a look at our friends in their traditional attire.

“Hello everyone and welcome to Wednesday Night Raw! I’m your host, Carja McMahon along with good ol’ Popkin Ross!”

“Pickles!”

It’s sad thinking that’s the last time I use that gag. Well, not really. Anyway, here are the last of the wrestling mash-ups. As always, click to embiggen.

“From Sixtus, ‘The Model’ Rich Purpel!” This is my favorite of all the heel mash-ups. It just turned out so well (at least I think so). By the way, “Purpel” is not a mistake. It’s so you pronounce it like Martel. 😉

“From Burroughs County, the Big Boss Oonch!”

“From Vawsing, the One Bear Gang!” “DERRRRRRRRRP!” “From deepest, darkest Vawsing, the Pelarian Dream, Barneem!” I couldn’t decide whether to go with Akeem or the One Man Gang for Barnaby, so I did both.

“Finally, Mama Shango!” I started working on Zoë as Papa Shango and it wasn’t working. Normally, I draw Zoë in a three-quarters view and I couldn’t get the facepaint to look right. I trashed the attempt and actually started looking at other wrestlers, but I couldn’t find anyone I wanted to go with. So I tried again, this time, drawing Zoë more head-on and it worked so much better. I’m glad I stuck with it.

So that’s it for wrestling month. Next week, will be a return to basics.
