It’s technically not a flashback if there’s no earlier piece to compare to, but I don’t want to keep switching back and forth from Fridays to Wednesdays for Skitter and Chae so they get the Friday slot too.

So here’s Skitter in the costume I came up for him. I can’t say it was very inspired. It’s an alien leader robe. He looks cute in just about every outfit.

That’s all for this week and for the revisiting of the space age theme. Come back next Friday for the start of the next theme.

Welcome back friend! It’s time for another mash-up. Let’s do this!

Here’s Chae in her space age finery. It’s the most far-out costume I came up with for the set. I like it, but even though I was inspired by some great art for the costume elements, I’m not 100% convinced it fits the theme. As crazy as it sounds, I think the colours I chose work against that pulpy sci-fi feel I was going for with this theme. The piece is good enough that I don’t consider it a fail. It’s fun but a little off the mark.

That’s all for this week. We conclude the set next Friday with Skitter. See you then!

Hello and good Friday everybody! It’s time for a flashback! Let’s have some fun!

It’s the piece that started the original set and it’s here to close out the remakes. Here’s Spacefur Rich rocketing into action. The flames of her rocket pack turned out so good here. I can only hope I can reproduce the effect when need be. It’s my favorite piece of the set.

Here’s the comparison to the original piece. I wouldn’t have been able to remove the space backdrop of the original without doing a LOT of editing, so I decided to put the new piece on a similar backdrop. What can I say? Looking back at the original piece I see where I was at at the time. I now know there are some facial angles that just don’t look good.

That’s all for this week. Next week we start to look at the two new pieces of the set for Chae and Skitter.

Wow! I completely spaced on it being Friday. So let’s celebrate spacing with some space. I think a close-up is well-warranted so don’t forget to click on the pictures to get a closer look.

Here’s Zoë on her space cycle. The helmet is the worst part of the piece. Zoë’s head shape really doesn’t lend itself to wearing a round bubble without a lot of empty space above her head so I cheated and made it more egg-shaped. I wasn’t able to make it look as smooth for some reason. I eventually got frustrated and decided “good enough”.

Here’s the comparison to the original piece. The new piece was in more of a dive so I rotated it to fit with the original. Man that first cycle was something. I tried to make the new design make more sense. I thought I’d done a nice job on the flames on the new piece and then I did next week’s piece and managed something even better! (How’s that for a tease?)

That’s it for this week. Have a fine weekend!

It’s Flashback Time again, it being Friday and all. Let us see what pops up…though if you’ve read the title you already know what’s coming and if you’ve noticed the preview picture then you’ve also seen what’s coming. Let’s not these truthful truths stop us from having some flashback fun.

Here’s the Big Oonch in his space suit out for a space walk. What an awful lot of glare on his helmet huh? And right over his eyes too! I mean, what are the odds that the one time he’s not wearing ANYTHING to cover his eyes that there would be so much localized glare?

Here’s a comparison to the original. That original pose was so goofy. And his arms were super long! The proportions are much better in the new piece as should be expected.

That’s all for this week. More fun in the space age to follow next Friday!
