Deema’s Tale (Star Wars version)

A lot of years ago, Deema lived with Deema’s Poppa on the Wookiee Planet. Deema never saw Deema’s Momma because Deema’s Momma died when Deema was a baby. Deema’s Poppa was a sciencey person. Deema’s Poppa was good friends with the Wookiees. Deema heard that Deema’s people don’t like Wookiees, but Deema and Deema’s Poppa did. Deema and Deema’s Poppa lived happily with the Wookiees. But mean people came to the Wookiee Planet. The mean people wanted to hurt Deema’s Wookiee friends. Deema’s Poppa helped the Wookiees fight the mean people. The Wookiees beat away the mean people but Deema’s Poppa died. So Deema lived with Deema’s Wookiee friends. Deema was sad that Deema’s Poppa died, but Deema loved Deema’s new Wookiee family.

One day more mean people came. The mean people took Deema away from Deema’s Wookiee family. The mean people put Deema in a little box. Deema was scared. But then Mowat saved Deema. Deema stayed with Mowat to protect Mowat from mean people like Mowat protected Deema from the bad people who kidnapped her. Deema lived with Mowat on the Sundog, with Mowat’s friends Serious Jedi Guy, Pretty Jedi Lady, Creepy Scary Guy and Horn Head. Deema was happy.

Things were good until Pretty Jedi Lady went away. Serious Jedi Guy had to go too. Now there was only Mowat, Creepy Scary Guy and Horn Head. Mouse Man was Mowat’s friend who came to live on the Sundog. Mouse Man was good at pushing buttons. Not as good as Deema, but still good. Deema was still happy.

There was one very bad man that Mowat didn’t like at all because the very bad man hurt Mowat’s special lady friend a long time before Mowat met Deema. The very bad man captured Mowat’s new special lady friend, A.M. because the very bad man knew that it would hurt Mowat.

Mowat didn’t want Deema to come when Mowat went to save A.M. Mowat wanted Deema to stay with Horn Head while Mowat, Creepy Scary Guy and Mouse Man went to stop the very bad man. But Deema sneaked on the Sundog when Mowat wasn’t looking. Mouse Man and Creepy Scary Guy got separated from Mowat. The very bad man caught Mowat and made Mowat watch as the very bad man hurt A.M. The very bad man almost killed Mowat and A.M. but Deema found Creepy Scary Man and Mouse Man and saved Mowat and A.M. Mowat was very mad with the very bad man. Mowat wouldn’t let Deema see, but Deema thinks Mowat killed the very bad man. The very bad man was one of Deema’s people, but Deema thinks it’s okay that Mowat killed the very bad man, because the very bad man was a very, very bad man.

Things were quiet for a while. Serious Jedi Man came back but Horn Head left. Then Pretty Jedi Lady came back. But Pretty Jedi Lady was different. Pretty Jedi Lady had become mean. Creepy Scary Guy went with Pretty Jedi Lady. Creepy Scary Guy wasn’t always Creepy Scary Guy. Creepy Scary Guy became Creepy Scary Guy after Creepy Scary Guy left with Pretty Jedi Lady.

Serious Jedi Man’s other serious Jedi friends said that Serious Jedi Man had to stop Pretty Jedi Lady and Creepy Scary Guy. Pretty Jedi Lady used to be Serious Jedi Man’s teacher, so Serious Jedi Man didn’t want to stop Pretty Jedi Lady, but Pretty Jedi Lady had become mean so Serious Jedi Man didn’t have a choice.

It took a long time for Serious Jedi Man to find Pretty Jedi Lady and Creepy Scary Guy. When Serious Jedi Man found Pretty Jedi Lady, Pretty Jedi Lady said lots of mean things to Serious Jedi Man. Pretty Jedi Lady said that Serious Jedi Man was jealous of Creepy Scary Guy because Creepy Scary Guy was a better learner than Serious Jedi Man. Pretty Jedi Lady and Creepy Scary Guy told Serious Jedi Man about Pretty Jedi Lady’s new teacher, Darth Sidious. Deema never saw Darth Sidious, but from what Serious Jedi Man told Mowat, Darth Sidious sounded even more bad than the very bad man that hurt A.M.

Serious Jedi Man fought against Pretty Jedi Lady and Creepy Scary Guy. Deema, Mowat and Mouse Man helped Serious Jedi Man fight. Creepy Scary Guy hurt Deema. Deema almost died. Mowat got really mad because of that. Mowat killed Creepy Scary Guy but Mowat got hurt too. Because Mowat and Deema were both hurt, Mowat and Deema couldn’t help Serious Jedi Man fight Pretty Jedi Lady anymore. So Serious Jedi Man told Mouse Man to help Mowat and Deema back to the Sundog. Serious Jedi Man was gone for a long time. Deema was scared that Pretty Jedi Lady would kill Serious Jedi Man because Pretty Jedi Lady was very strong. But Serious Jedi Man came back and said that Pretty Jedi Lady wouldn’t hurt anyone anymore. Serious Jedi Man seemed sad so Deema gave Serious Jedi Man a hug because hugs always make Deema feel better.

Serious Jedi Man’s other serious Jedi friends said that because Serious Jedi Man had stopped Pretty Jedi Lady, Serious Jedi Man didn’t need to study anymore. Serious Jedi Man went to be a Jedi with Serious Jedi Man’s other serious Jedi friends. Deema and Mowat used to see Serious Jedi Man now and then, but Deema hasn’t seen Serious Jedi Man since Emperor Palpatine said the Jedi turned bad. Deema thinks Emperor Palpatine is a fibber, because Deema knows that Serious Jedi Man and Serious Jedi Man’s other serious Jedi friends were good people.

Anyway, after Serious Jedi Man went away, Mowat made Deema Mowat’s little girl, so Mowat was now Deema’s Poppa Number Two. Deema told Mowat to stop being silly and ask A.M. to be Mowat’s most special lady friend of all time so Deema could have a Momma. A.M. said yes. That was Deema’s bestest day ever.

Then Mouse Man’s wife got really really sick and didn’t get better. Mouse Man brought Mouse Girl to live on the Sundog to be Deema’s bestest friend ever and so Deema could make Mouse Girl feel less sad about losing Mouse Girl’s Momma.

Deema was happy and had lotsa adventures with Deema’s new family. Then A.M. got sick like Mouse Girl’s Momma. Mowat tried to be brave, but Deema saw Mowat cry when Mowat thought Deema wasn’t looking. Deema cried lots too. Mowat was a lot sadder after A.M. died. Deema tried to help Mowat feel better, but even though Mowat loved Deema lots, Mowat missed A.M. too much.

Things got scary when everybody in space started fighting. Mowat met Noa and Bardo during the War after Noa and Bardo stopped being in the Army. Noa and Bardo became Mowat, Mouse Man, Deema and Mouse Girl’s good friends even though Noa and Bardo lived on Temerity and Mowat, Mouse Man, Deema and Mouse Girl lived on the Sundog.

Then came Deema’s saddest day ever! Even sadder than when Deema’s Poppa Number One and A.M. died. Mowat, Mouse Man, Deema and Mouse Girl were on Duros when the Separatists sent ships to drop bombs. There was a big fire. Mowat and Mouse Man went to help some people come out of a burning building but the building fell down on them. Deema tried to run in to save Mowat and Mouse Man but Mouse Girl held Deema back. Deema cried more than Deema ever cried before because Deema didn’t have Deema’s Poppa Number Two anymore. Deema and Mouse Girl were all alone without Mommas or Poppas.

Deema and Mouse Girl continued to fly the Sundog because that’s what Mowat and Mouse Man would have wanted. Noa and Bardo helped but then Noa and Bardo had their fight.

Deema wasn’t there when Noa had Noa’s fight with Bardo, but if Deema had been there, Deema would have told Noa and Bardo to stop being stupid and be friends again. Mouse Girl says that it’s not that easy, but Deema doesn’t understand why. Deema and Mouse Girl stayed friends with both Noa and Bardo. Even though Noa and Bardo wouldn’t talk, Deema knows Noa and Bardo still cared about each other. That’s why Deema and Mouse Girl asked Noa to help when Bardo got in trouble.

A lot of years ago, when Deema was still really little, Deema lived with Deema’s Poppa in Seton. Deema never saw Deema’s Momma because Deema’s Momma died when Deema was a baby. Deema’s Poppa was a fisher-scaley. Deema’s Poppa worked hard to earn Shinies for Deema’s Poppa and Deema. Deema’s Poppa bought Deema Deema’s first tinker tool set, because Deema likes buttons and tinkers can have lots of buttons.

One day, wild furs attacked Seton. Deema’s Poppa helped the furs in Seton fight the wild furs away, but Deema’s Poppa died. Deema was sad that Deema’s Poppa died, but Deema was also brave.

Then, on another day, more wild furs attacked Seton. The wild furs dragged Deema away. The wild furs were going to eat Deema. But Deema didn’t want to be eaten! Deema screamed and kicked one of the wild furs in the chin. The wild fur sure didn’t like that! The wild fur howled angrily. That’s when Tomaw showed up.

Tomaw is a wolf ranger. Tomaw was patrolling like wolf rangers like to do when Tomaw heard Deema’s scream. Tomaw ran and arrived just in time to save Deema from getting hurt by the wild fur. Deema hugged Tomaw lots for saving Deema.

Tomaw used to live alone, because Tomaw was a lone wolf (hee hee, get it? Deema told a joke). But when Tomaw found out that Deema didn’t have a Poppa or a Momma, Tomaw brought Deema home to live with Tomaw. Deema was happy because Tomaw was a nice fur.

Tomaw moved around a lot because rangers always move lots. Deema was sad at first because Deema had to leave all of Deema’s friends behind, but Deema met a lot of new friends, so it was sorta okay.

When Deema and Tomaw lived in Bree, Deema met Wrench Rabbit. Wrench Rabbit showed Deema lots about tinkers. Wrench Rabbit says that Deema is a really good tinkerer. Deema is proud, because Deema thinks that Wrench Rabbit is the best tinkerer there is.

Right now, Deema lives in Sunnyvale with Tomaw. Sunnyvale is where the Mouse Wingers live.. Deema met a Mouse Winger called Mouse Girl. Mouse Girl is Deema’s name for Zoë. Mouse Girl thinks that Deema doesn’t know Mouse Girl’s real name, but Deema does. Deema just like Mouse Girl better than Zoë. Deema would like to fly with the Mouse Wingers. Mouse Girl told Deema that maybe someday Deema can fly with Mouse Girl if Mouse Girl finds a bird big enough.

Tomaw says that Tomaw and Deema will be moving to the Crimson Coast soon. Deema hopes that Mouse Girl can find a bird big enough for Deema to fly before Deema moves!

Wednesday Mash-up: Deema Edition

Welcome back to the Wednesday Mash-up! Following up on the promise I made in Monday’s blog, I’m giving Deema a chance to be a part of the mash-ups that have appeared in previous weeks.

The first mash-ups featured the Justice League of Animus. Deema has been cast as Miss Martian. I find that their sunny dispositions are a good match for one another. It doesn’t hurt that they’re both green either.

Next is Deema, the Do-re-mi Master. It’s kind of funny to make a Star Wars mash-up of Deema considering that Deema started out as a Star Wars character. Deema playing Yoda makes sense since they’re both green and have a funny way of talking.

From Star Wars we move on to Star Trek. Deema is a tinkerer, so here she is in an engineering uniform from Star Trek II. My original plan was to cast Deema as a Gorn, but the picture turned out terrible so I had to think of something else. This was it.

I was already running out characters for the Avengers, so here’s Agent Deema Hill (you might want to click to embiggen this one to see some of the detail…did you know that all the mash-ups are embiggen-able? Well now you do!)

Yo Joe! Here we see Deeminx, the ninja. Female characters in the Joe universe are at a premium.

KIIIIITTYYYYYYYYYYYY! What could be better than one Deema Cobra mash-up? Two Deema Cobra mash-ups of course. That’s why I cast her as the Crimson Guard Commanders, Deema and Ameed.
