It’s Friday morning. Another four-day weekend looms on the horizon. All I have to do is get through today. A flashback will help!
It’s a return to the Star Wars theme this week. Here’s Big Oonch as Obi-Wan Kenobi. As always, when you click on a picture, you’ll get an enlarged view of it.
Now, you may have noticed that with the other Star Wars flashbacks I’ve been featuring the characters’ looks from The Empire Strikes Back (except for Barnaby’s second turn as Lando where I went with his uniform from Return of the Jedi). To keep the trend going, I decided to show Obi-Wan’s look from Empire…as a Force spirit. Interesting note: The ghost colouring took less than five minutes to do. Also, I always like to play around with the layers a little bit when I’m done a piece and when I hid the ink layers on this one, I thought the result was pretty interesting for the ghost look, so I’m sharing both. Which one do you prefer? With or without lines?
Here’s the comparison to the original mashup. I think I made the robe hang off Oonch’s body so much better this time around.
And that’s all for this week. Todrick is back again next week. See you then!
It’s Thursday night as I write this, but it’ll be Friday morning when this goes live. Fridays are for flashbacks. Let’s flash!
Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the star ship Enterprise, its continuing mission to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone before.
That’s right. It’s Star Trek time again. And here we have Big Oonch as Geordi LaForge. As always, click on a picture to enlarge it.
Here’s the comparison with the original piece. Back in the early days, I thought Oonch should have two little hairs sticking out. Now I like him “bald”. The long tunic versions of costumes didn’t work as well for Oonch and Cyran since they’re so short and we never saw their legs.
Next week, things will happen and pictures will go up. Which pictures though? We’ll all know in seven days time! Have a good weekend!
