It’s Friday before a three-day weekend (Canadian Thanksgiving yo!) and that’s just cool. Let us commence this anticipatory day of celebration with a flashback!

It’s Cobra Friday again. Somehow despite my best efforts to avoid it, I scheduled two flashbacks from the same theme one after the other. Oh well. Cobra fans rejoice! As always, click on a picture to enlarge it.

Big Oonch was chosen for Scrap-Iron because of the sweet helmet he wears. It was weird making him kneel because Oonch is already so short.

Here’s the action figure card design.

And here’s the comparison to the original mash-up. Looking back, Scrap-Iron was probably one of the more solid mash-ups from that period.

That’s all for this week. Next week, you have something Star Trek-y to look forward to. Have a great weekend everybody!

Hello friends! I hope you’re all enjoying your Saturday. The Guardians of the Galaxy theme isn’t over yet, but I brought the heroes of the theme together for a group shot.

As happened with the Teen Titans group picture, I had to redo someone’s eyes, this time Red Rich’s, so that he wouldn’t be looking in a completely other direction than everybody else because that just looks weird. The sizes play different from the real Guardians of the Galaxy obviously but it still makes for a fun group picture. Click on it to enlarge it.

Good morning folks. It’s Friday and I’m going to work. That hasn’t been true since June and I’m telling you, it’s rough, man. Oh well! Let’s power through the day. What better way to start than with a flashback?

It’s Marvel AND Big Oonch week this week. We had Big Oonch as Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy on Wednesday and we’re concluding with Big Oonch as Thor from the Avengers on Friday.

Okay, so actually, I went with the costume from The Dark World for Thor this time around, just to be a little different. He’s a little ganglier than I intended, but I still think he turned out nice.

That’s all for this week. Kitty (Cobra) returns next week. I’m always curious to see your guesses on who’ll be playing who below in the comments.

Welcome to the Wednesday Mash-up! I have a lot of fun drawing these. I hope you all enjoy them as well.

It was about a week or two before the Guardians of the Galaxy movie’s release that I realized I should have been doing Guardians mash-ups. I was still finishing up the Power Rangers mash-ups though and I don’t like interrupting a theme all that much.So I waited. Guardians is a proven hit and I loved it (I went to see it three times while it was at my local theatre). Here now, at last we begin the movie mash-ups!

Big Oonch missed out on being a Power Ranger so I wanted to give him a chance at being one of the Guardians. Here he is as Star-Lord. Lots of detail-work in this costume. You can click on the picture to enlarge it and take a closer look.

Next week, prepare to be destroyed by Drax! Any guesses on who will be dressing up?

It’s Wednesday and I’m dog-beat tired. I had a lot of trouble falling asleep with the loud wind last night and I got woken up over an hour earlier than expected by my cat. Joy. Let’s try to wake ourselves up with a mash-up huh? But first:

Ranma 1/2 is an anime that is aimed at an older audience. The mash-ups featured here are 100% safe for children of all ages, but parental discretion is advised before viewing the anime or reading the manga with children.

Mousse is a guy from Shampoo’s village of Chinese amazons who’s been in love with Shampoo since childhood. Unfortunately for him, Shampoo just doesn’t love him back (though it turns out she does care for him). He’s the master of hidden weapons, able to strike with multiple weapons (some unconventional) hidden within his robes. He’s also extremely short-sighted. Without his glasses, he can’t tell Shampoo from Cologne (her great-grandmother).

Here we have Big Oonch dressed as Mousse. Since he’s wearing the thick glasses, there was no point in drawing an “anime” face, so there’s just the one version this week. Oonch’s legs are too short to do the dynamic fighting stance pose I wanted to, so he’s standing plain. As always, click on the picture to enlarge it.

Next week will be the final Ranma mash-up, featuring Deema. Who will it be? Come back Wednesday to find out!
