It’s a New Day! Yes it is! A new mash-up day that is! Let’s get to it!
When Cacofonix gets fired as school teacher for their children, the village women hire Bravura to replace them. She rubs all the men the wrong way with her views and inspires the women to take over. When the village is attacked by the Romans, Asterix saves the day and Bravura and he share a moment…sort of.
I felt myself running out of female Asterix characters. I found this one piece that grouped most of the women of Asterix together and used it to figure out who I could feature. The keys of course were a distinctive look and some name value in the Asterix mythos. Bravura definitely had the former, though as she only appears in the one volume (Asterix and the Secret Weapon) she’s not the most recognizable of characters. Deema got the role because that’s who was left.
That’s all for this week. One more Asterix mash-up left. Who can it be? Find out next Wednesday!
Hello friend! Welcome back to another installment of the Wednesday Mash-up, made possible by it being Wednesday. Long live Wednesday (until midnight when we hail Thursday as our sovereign leader and master)!
The Rebels theme isn’t done yet. I’ve still got a few weeks left to go. I’m still looking for a part for Big Oonch to play. The rest of the main cast will be featured before it’s all said and done. But for now, let’s focus on this week’s offering. As always, you can click on a picture to see the same picture only bigger.
The most cheerful of Animus characters, Deema, got to play the most villainous of Rebels characters, the main baddie for the first season, the Inquisitor. You know he’s bad news (not Barrett) because he wasn’t given a name, just his title. The pose didn’t come out quite as I had planned but that’s just how it goes sometimes.
That’s all for this week. Next week we’ll be looking at the big surprise reveal from Season 1. So you know, spoilers! See you next Wednesday!
Hello peoples! It’s the second post of 2015! I swear I’m not going to make that a thing. It’s just the first time I’m writing for the site in the new year (yesterday’s post was a Funny). Anyway, before we move on, let me just mention for those of you following on Facebook and wondering, there WAS a flashback posted last week. It was Cyran as Captain America. I was having trouble with my Facebook connection last week and it never updated.
I drew what is technically the last of the flashbacks today. I say technically, because the last flashback I have planned is of something I haven’t drawn before. I’m lumping it in with the flashbacks because it’s a theme I’ve done before. What is it? Well, you’ll find out on January 30th, when the last flashback goes live! For now, let’s just be happy with this week’s flashback. What I was thinking of for the last flashback will actually be the first of a new set of mash-ups which will bring new characters into old themes, like I did with Deema after her introduction. Who and what? You’ll find out January 21st, when the next mash-up theme is due. For now, let’s enjoy this week’s flashback.
Deema is here to close out the G.I.JOE theme as Jinx. Deema was first cast as Jinx because Jinx was the last of the original Joe gals. I wasn’t really feeling drawing Jinx again though. I rooted through yojoe.com (my go-to spot for Joe information) trying to find a different character to go with and nothing was working for me. So I decided to stick with Jinx, but I went with the revised card art which I thought would be a little more interesting to draw. So here it is.
I went with the revised art, but I stuck to my basic card layout just to keep things uniform.
And here’s the comparison to the original mash-up.
So that closes out G.I.JOE. Next week, is Star Wars (and it’s not even the last one) so come on back for that. Have a great weekend!
Greetings and Salutations to you my comrades. It is now time for that thing where we mash things up. Let us get to the mashing, yes?
Of course we’re still in League of Legends territory. As always, you can click on the picture to enlarge it. It’s worth it this week I think!
Deema is here dressed as Vi. This was an intimidating costume to draw but I loved the design. I think it’s the pink hair that works for me. And those gloves! I’m really pleased with the results.
That’s all for today. Christmas is tomorrow! Have a great one! Next week, Cyran will be here. Check it out!
