Sweet Six it’s time for the last flashback! I can’t believe it’s finally here! Let’s get right to it.

Our last theme is Star Wars. It’s been such an important part of my life growing up, it’s kind of fitting. As always, click on a picture and you’ll get to see it again only bigger!

Popkin of all characters is the one to close things out as Chewbacca. Why Popkin and not a flashier design to close the flashbacks out with a bang? Honestly, it’s because I almost forgot him and so I stuck him on at the end. Sorry about that ol’ bird. Have a jar of gherkins on me!

And that’s it for the flashbacks. Maybe someday I’ll feel the urge to revisit some of those middle mash-ups. I know I can do them better but they weren’t nearly as bad as the first sets. For now I’m ready to move on to something else that’s different yet the same. The new strip series featuring the Pickle Patch Bandits starts next Friday! I hope to see you all then!

Hello flashback fans! Welcome to the penultimate edition of Flashback Friday. After this week, there’s only one flashback to go. Before we get there, let’s enjoy this week’s edition.

This week is the last of the DC flashbacks. As always, click on a picture so you can see an enlarged view.

Nektara is closing the superhero theme as Wonder Bear. As I did with the other DC flashbacks, I chose a different costume for the flashback. Because they worked so well before, I went with the New 52 universe version. In all honesty, this isn’t one of my best, but I don’t think it’s horrible or anything. I just don’t like the way her bottom half turned out.

Wonder-Bear

Here’s the comparison to the original mash-up. I’d always considered the original Wonder Woman mash-up to be the weakest of that theme. Even if the remake isn’t as good as I would have liked, it’s still leagues better (see what I did there?) than the original.

And that’s all for this week. Next week is the last of the Star Wars mash-ups. Come by next Friday to see who’s closing things out!

Hiya hiya hiya! Howaya howaya howaya? It’s Friday folks! The best day of the work week (because it’s the last day of the work week). Let us celebrate Friday’s greatness with a flashback while we still can!

It’s a Star Wars week (and as mentioned last week, not the last). As always, click on the picture to see an enlarged close-up view!

Red Rich returns as Grand Moff Tarkin. I decided to go with a classic Tarkin pose this time out. The arms are probably a little longer than they should be to allow for it.

That’s all for this week! Two more flashbacks left! DC gets their last flashback next week. Remember who? Find out next Friday!

Hello peoples! It’s the second post of 2015! I swear I’m not going to make that a thing. It’s just the first time I’m writing for the site in the new year (yesterday’s post was a Funny). Anyway, before we move on, let me just mention for those of you following on Facebook and wondering, there WAS a flashback posted last week. It was Cyran as Captain America. I was having trouble with my Facebook connection last week and it never updated.

I drew what is technically the last of the flashbacks today. I say technically, because the last flashback I have planned is of something I haven’t drawn before. I’m lumping it in with the flashbacks because it’s a theme I’ve done before. What is it? Well, you’ll find out on January 30th, when the last flashback goes live! For now, let’s just be happy with this week’s flashback. What I was thinking of for the last flashback will actually be the first of a new set of mash-ups which will bring new characters into old themes, like I did with Deema after her introduction. Who and what? You’ll find out January 21st, when the next mash-up theme is due. For now, let’s enjoy this week’s flashback.

Deema is here to close out the G.I.JOE theme as Jinx. Deema was first cast as Jinx because Jinx was the last of the original Joe gals. I wasn’t really feeling drawing Jinx again though. I rooted through yojoe.com (my go-to spot for Joe information) trying to find a different character to go with and nothing was working for me. So I decided to stick with Jinx, but I went with the revised card art which I thought would be a little more interesting to draw. So here it is.

Jinx

I went with the revised art, but I stuck to my basic card layout just to keep things uniform.

So that closes out G.I.JOE. Next week, is Star Wars (and it’s not even the last one) so come on back for that. Have a great weekend!

Hello folks! I almost missed Friday didn’t I? Well, let’s not waste anymore time then. Let’s get on with the flashback!

This week is the last of the Avengers flashbacks. Another theme ending. It’s really winding down, huh?

Cyran is closing things out as Captain America. To change things up I went with the costume from the Captain America sequel.
