Time to post the mash-ups! I posted the mash-ups! If you remember the Dunkin Donuts commercials from the 80s that opening is hilarious. Well it’s an opening.

Sesshomaru is InuYasha’s half-brother. He’s a villain…kiiiiiinda? Well no, he’s a villain, but he has a less evil side as well.

Here’s Red Rich as Sesshomaru. This is my favorite of the pieces so far. There’s enough detail that the costume doesn’t look drab, but not so much that it was painful to draw.

That’s all for this week! See you next time!

It’s mash-up o’clock!

Miroku is a traveling monk with an unfortunate curse that was passed down to him. His hand has a wind tunnel that will eventually consume him like it did his father and his grandfather before him. He joins with InuYasha and Kagome as they look for the shards of the Shikon Jewel, hoping that together they will be able to defeat the half-demon responsible for his curse.

Miroku is always flirting with the ladies (to put it mildly) so it made sense to have Big Oonch portray him. Miroku’s costume doesn’t lend itself to hiding the eyes, so I figured I’d use the Wind Tunnel effect to do so.

And here’s a look at the picture without the Wind Tunnel effect. His wig is still obscuring Oonch’s eyes we’ll say.

That’s all for this week. See ya next time!

Wednesday is a good day. One week out of two I gets paid and that is usually pretty helpful towards staying alive. It’s also the middle of the week. We’ve climbed the steep slope and the weekend is within sight. But mostly, it’s the mash-ups, right? Of course. Now let’s get to it.

Shippo is a young kitsune who travels with Kagome and InuYasha. He’s the bratty little brother to InuYasha and InuYasha is the bully big brother to him. He’s helpful when he can be and he’s devoted to Kagome as a surrogate mom/big sister.

Here’s Skitter as Shippo. Pretty adorable huh?

That’s all for this week. Take care and see you next week for more fun and frivolity!

Hello! It’s a little later than planned, but not two days later! So that’s a plus! Let’s go on to the mash-up!

Kagome is a Japanese teenager. She is born with the Shikkon jewel and as such attracted the attention of some evil yokai who yank her back into the past to try to get the jewel. She meets InuYasha and adventure and hijinks ensue!

Here’s Nektara as Kagome. This is better than my InuYasha piece but it’s just a sailor fuku and I’ve done those before so it’s not very interesting. I’m still holding out hope that the other characters will give me something I’m really happy with.

That’s all for this week! Next Wednesday we’ll meet another character from feudal Japan. Who? Well you’ll have to come back and find out!

Hello! Friday could not get here fast enough! Now that it’s here, let’s get to the mash-ups…and as I post this, I realize that this isn’t a flashback, so this should have gone up on Wednesday! So yeah…late.

InuYasha is a manga by Rumiko Takahashi, creator of one of my favorite manga, Ranma 1/2. I think this one is her biggest successes. The basic synopsis is a teenage girl travels back in time to feudal Japan to help a young half-demon recover the shards of a jewel of great power. The girl and the half-demon are at odds but you can tell they like each other too. It’s very Takahashi, which for me is a good thing.

Here’s Todrick as the titular InuYasha. Not gonna lie, I almost gave up on this theme on the very first piece. I started with Todrick, switched to Sass and then came back to Todrick. It’s not great. I’m hoping the rest of the series goes much better.

That’s all for this week. Have a good weekend everybody!
