Is it mash-up time again? It would seem so! Let’s get to it then shall we?

Okay so this week I tried something a little more challenging than my usual fare as I chose Transformers as a theme. My original plan was to have three ready for Wednesday. Well, after three hours or so on Monday all I’d managed to produce was an unsatisfactory ink of my first sketch. Tired, I stopped and started again on Tuesday with a new ink opting this time to round the edges a little more as I didn’t like all the angles in the first ink. I liked the second one a little better so I coloured it.In all it’s taken me seven hours to finish this one piece! I have a whole new respect for the artists who draw Transformers comics because Six knows I wouldn’t have the patience for it. I thought I might do a full cast set of Autobots and then another full cast set of Decepticons. After just one piece, I’m not sure I want to even try another.

So here’s Optimus Rich, leader of the Auto-tinkers. For comparison, I’ve included the original sketch and the first and second inks. As always, click on a picture to enlarge it.

That’s all for this week! What will next Wednesday bring? Come back and find out!

Welcome back to the Wednesday Mash-up, where mash-up means just another drawing (at least for the last few weeks). I’ll be getting back to some crossover material soon I promise.

This week we conclude our look at the Furship…sorta. What’s that supposed to mean? I don’t know. I’m just spouting nonsense! Well, that’s a switch… Hey! Okay, okay, let’s just get on with it, shall we? As always, you can click on the picture to see it bigger.

Here’s Bunwick the beaver. Bunwick is fascinated with architecture. That’s all very nice and good, but how does one depict an interest in architecture? I decided to show him as he’s studying the blueprints of some building or other. The first sketch (which you can see on Facebook) was a front-facing Bunwick looking up from the blueprint, but there was no way to really know what he was looking at, so I decided to tackle the idea from a different angle (literally). I almost never draw characters from behind. It’s not something I feel confident doing. I decided to at least try it, and figured I could always fall back on the original idea if it didn’t work out.  Obviously the tail is the big telling point. I’m particularly happy with the way the arms turned out. I’m not saying I’m going to start drawing a lot more rear views, but I now know that I can at least manage something passable.

So that’s it for this week’s installment! See you next Wednesday with something new!

Welcome back to the Wednesday Mash-up! I have no delightful banter to use for an intro this week, so let’s dive right in. As always, click on the picture to make with the bigness.

Today is part three of our review of the members of the Furship. There’s only one again, so that means I’ve decided to stretch things out for another week. Betcha saw that coming!

Our third hero is the smallest member of the group, Zouly the frog. He’s deadly with his slingshot, just ask Wilhemina. I originally planned to have his tongue sticking out, but I felt it didn’t really stand out with the slingshot in the way.

Zouly

Well, we have one hero left to look at, so it’s a good bet that he’ll be showing up next week. See you next Wednesday for the final reveal!

No way! It’s Wednesday morning and the Wednesday Mash-up is already up? I must have gotten up off my butt and drawn something early (on Tuesday night).

If you checked in last week, you’ll know the theme for the next little while is the Furship. Let’s get right to this week’s installment then. As always, click on the picture to see a close-up of it.

This week brings us the wolverine, Logan…er Raz! He’s the Furship’s muscle. You don’t want to mess with a wolverine! He’s also obsessed with making Shinies. Raz formed the Furship as cheap labour in his Shiny-making schemes. Oh he’d never outright SAY they’re his peons! Nono! That would be uncouth! But I’m on to him! And now you’re on to him too! But really, what are you gonna do about it? I already told you, you don’t want to mess with a wolverine.

Raz

So who’s gonna be featured next week? Will it be Zouly? Will it be Bunwick? Could it be *gasp* BOTH? Come back next Wednesday to find out!

Hello everybody! It’s time for the Wednesday Mash-up! I The singular is appropriate because lately there’s only been one picture per week. As is becoming customary, I just finished this piece to have something to put up. As always, click on the picture to embiggen it.

So apparently Wakfu is done because I’ve moved on to something else. This week we look at the newest additions to the world of Pelaria: the Furship, as featured in the Furship Chronicles. The Furship Chronicles being the name I’ve given to the adventures of our roleplaying group’s characters for those of you just tuning in.

To get us started this week is Wilhemina, a.k.a “Mysterious” Mina Weasel, or as Zouly calls her, the Pain. Wilhemina has a propensity for schemes involving banana peels so I chose to draw her as she’s preparing to carry out her latest plot. MyPaint crashed a while back and all the brushes I had saved in my favorites tab were deleted. For the life of me, I can’t remember which brush I used to shade. The modeling brush was the closest to what I remembered, so that’s the one I’m using for now. The result is quite different from the solid-colour shading I used in the Wakfu mash-ups. Which do you prefer?

Which character from the Furship will be featured next week? Come back next Wednesday to find out!
