Well hey there! Y’all made it! Welcome brothers and sisters to another installment of the Wednesday Mash-up!

We’re still knee-deep in Slayers this week. I reckon we can get to the festivities faster if’n I stop with this southern-style chitchat…SO LET’S DO THIS! Click on da piccy to see it go big.

Last week, I promised we’d see Zelgadis, so this week…Here’s Zelgadis! He’s being played by Todrick who felt left out when I didn’t include him in the Wakfu series. He really dedicated himself to this one, colouring his fur blue and all. I think it’s a really striking colour for him. Tails and capes…not an easy combination.

Well that’s it for this week. Any guesses as to who’ll be featured next week? Here’s a hint: She’s in Slayers!

Guess what? It’s Wednesday! Time for a mash-up!

It’s more Slayers this week. Slayers has been a fun theme so far. I won’t be able to go through the full Animus cast with it, because there aren’t enough main characters, or at least ones I would want to draw. Anyway, let’s get to it. Click on the picture to see it in its embiggened form.

When I was thinking about which character would allow me to hide Big Oonch’s eyes, the easy choice was Xellos the Red Priest Metallium (sorry got the character names mixed up. Rezo the Red Priest was one of the bad guys). His bowl page cut lends itself well to being just a…HAIR too low. Ha! I kill me!

Next up will be Zelgadis, but who will be playing him? Come back next Wednesday to find out!

Welcome back! Did you miss us?

Today we continue with our Slayers mash-ups. As always, click on the picture to see the same picture, only bigger.

In Slayers, Lina Inverse travels with the brave yet somewhat simple-minded warrior, Gourry Gabriev. Simple-minded? Well, that sounds like Barnaby! So here’s Barnaby as Gourry. The look for his costume is an amalgamation of different sources. I used what looked like a CG Gourry for the pose and costume, a cel from the anime for the sword hilt and another piece of artwork for the colour reference. Shading was mostly guesswork for anything beyond the torso.

There are plenty other Slayers characters to get to. Next week we’ll see at least one more!

I bet you thought I was going to miss this week’s mash-up, huh? Well honestly, so did I. But I persevered and got something done.

This week’s theme is The Slayers which is a comedic anime series in a fantasy setting. It’s a great show with fun characters. You could do worse in an anime. And now The Slayers are a part of the mash-up family. As always, click on the picture to see a close-up.

The star of the series is Lina Inverse, who is a sorceress searching for new and powerful magics and treasure. Nektara gets the honors this time.

There should be more Slayers mash-ups next week. See you then!

Welcome back to the Wednesday Mash-up where it’s the Furship-Revisited Day!

That’s right, I’m revisiting the Furship! But why? Because the membership grew by one in our most recent session. You’ve met the original members of the group, so I thought it was only fair for the most recent addition to get some solo screen time of her own. Let’s meet her now, shall we?

Here she is, Emeraldine Fiera. This cat can cook and has a fascination with the stars. The original concept for the picture called for some stars in the sky to really nail the fact that Emeraldine is star-gazing as her supper is cooking in the frying pan, but I felt they didn’t add anything special to the picture so I dropped them. It occurs to me now, that having her cook breakfast really doesn’t help sell the illusion that it’s nighttime. Oops! ^_^

Emeraldine-Fiera

Okay, so that’s all for the Furship, for reals this time…until we add a new member! See you next Wednesday with something new (or maybe I’ll just revisit some more old themes!)
