Greetings programs! It is time for a new mash-up. As the Year of Mina continues we’re revisiting toy lines of the 80’s.

Masked crusaders working overtime, fighting crime! Fighting crime! Secret raiders who will neutralize as soon as they arrive. The theme song is so 80’s but it’s catchy. I remember I had one M.A.S.K. toy. The Condor was smaller so it was more in my budget. Of course one of the centerpieces of the line was the Thunderhawk, piloted by Matt Trakker, which is who Mina is dressed up as this week. I seem to recall their masks would come down from the ceiling so that’s what I was going for here so I didn’t have to draw her with the mask on, at which point you can’t really tell who it is. The suit ended up a little darker than I intended, but other than that it’s fine. I think the ears on the mask don’t seem wildly out of place somehow.

That’s all for this week! Seeya next time! End of line.

I can’t think of a clever open for this week’s installment, so allow me to quote a wise girl who once said, “Speak softly and carry a beagle.” Yeah. Words to live by. Assuming the beagle plays along.

I have friends who played League of Legends so I tried it once and it’s not for me, but the character designs are amazing. And maybe a little intimidating to draw at my level. But I gave it a shot once and now I’m back for more with Mina as Lux. There were so many characters to choose from, I went with Lux because she looked cheerful and bright. I also thought the original piece had an interesting angle which made me want to give it a try. I didn’t quite nail it, but I’m not ashamed of it by any means.

That’s all for this week. Come back for another mash-up next Wednesday!
