Hello and good Monday to you Top Men and Top Women.

I’m so tired today. Why? You may ask? Well that would be because I kept waking up all night to scratch my mosquito bites. They’ve been particularly irritating this far and the season’s only starting. Not fun at all.

What was fun was the week’s gaming. Seeing as I got both strips drawn last Monday that left me with plenty of time to go out to Les Dés Truqués. At this point, I don’t even remember all the games I’ve tried out. I did get to play a fair bit of Star Wars Destiny and I’m really digging it. I’m looking forward to getting more of the new set and also to see what future sets will bring. My CCG addiction is back…in dice form (well still mostly cards).

I also finally got to try out Vikings Gone Wild which I received back in…February? Yeah that sounds about right. March at the latest. It’s a great deck builder game that plays intuitively. It was so much fun that we immediately played a second game. The Kickstarter exclusives and the expansions will keep it fresh for a while too. I’m definitely eager to play again.

So am I really going there? A new story arc featuring Big Oonch started on Friday. It’s an idea that I had way back in the early days of the strip but the mega-long Finding Skitter storyline kept going on and on and I’m just now getting to it. Barnaby’s storyline was all about one of his main character traits. Oonch’s will be too, only without breaking the fourth wall as much. More to come next week.

It occurs to me I haven’t had supper and I’m kinda hungry so that will do it for this week. Have a good seven and we’ll do this all again next Monday. Carja V.

Hey it’s Friday! Another week has come and is about to go! That’s always good news. And what better way to celebrate than to post a flashback? I can’t think of one, can you?

Guile is one of two American fighters from Street Fighter II (the other being Ken). His military fatigues suggest that he’s in the armed forces. For some reason, he was probably my least favorite character in Street Fighter II (well maybe after Blanka). His trademark is his spiked hair.

Here’s Red Rich, or rather Green Rich, stepping in as Guile. I don’t have a whole lot to say about this piece. It’s solid.

Here’s a comparison to the original. The frontal pose of the original showed the costume more, but I like the dimensions better on the second. And just now, as I’m posting this, I realize that I forgot to include the American flag tattoo on his right arm in the new piece. The old piece’s hair makes me wonder where his ears are. I corrected that in the new one as I can believe his ears are actually somewhere in all that hair.

That’s it for this week. Have a good weekend everybody and see you all again next week for more fun stuff!

Good Monday to ye Top Men and Top Women! Welcome back to the blog.

I stretched my three-day weekend into four days with a vacation day on Friday which was really nice. It’s nice to get away from the office for an extended period. Especially these days.

On Friday, Frank, Melanie and I went out to see my friend Steve’s store’s new location. Frank has been laid up for months with a bad foot and he’s finally up and moving again which is great. And Steve’s new location is great with so much more room than his two shops previously had combined.

While we were out on Friday, I picked up two games, Star Wars Clue and Poker Assault. I really liked Poker Assault’s art and it was on deep discount so I was willing to take the risk. I wasn’t expecting much but it turned out to be a nice little game. Star Wars Clue has a really bad gamebreaking flaw in it but it’s Star Wars so I overlooked it and picked it up anyway. I’ll have to check up on boardgamegeek for some suggestions on how to work around it.

Zoë as Cammy from Street Fighter went up on Friday. It was supposed to go up a week earlier but I messed up in posting it. Oh well, better late than never.

There was plenty of wrestling on over the weekend with the UK special, Takeover Chicago and Backlash. I was out on Friday and Saturday but caught the shows on the replays and they were pretty great. Backlash I was home for but I fell asleep on it. It was an okay show, which is bad considering it’s the main roster.

I’ve been watching a lot of Happy Days reruns lately. Like Barney Miller a few months back, it was sadly inspired by the death of one of the show’s stars, Erin Moran, who played Joanie. Unlike Barney Miller which I didn’t watch a whole lot of when I was younger, Happy Days for a time was a regular part of my TV life thanks to syndicated reruns. I didn’t remember the early seasons very well. I feel like they weren’t shown as often as the stuff from season three onward. The show holds up pretty well. I’m still entertained.

That’s all for this week. Have a good seven y’all and we’ll do this again next Monday. Carja V.
