Hey there Top Men and Top Women! Time to blog.
Today I told myself I wouldn’t wait until fifteen minutes before Raw to write my blog. This way, in theory, I can take the time to write something worthwhile. This by no means guarantees a post of any significant quality, just that the lack of quality SHOULDN’T be because it’s rushed.
I went to a Hallowe’en party at Les Dés Truqués on Saturday night. To save five dollars on the entry ticket, I dug my Flint costume out. It’d been a few years since I’d worn it so I was happy to see it still fit. Considering that it was baggy back then I would have been REALLY disappointed to see it didn’t fit anymore. I also didn’t want to be the only person without a costume. It turns out I wouldn’t have been. There was one person out of the 28 who attended who decided to forego wearing one. Oh well, five bucks is five bucks. 🙂
One of the activities was a horror movie quiz. Even though I don’t like horror movies and don’t generally watch them (I have seen a couple) I was able to be a significant contributor to our team’s success. Out of maybe eight or nine teams, we finished third with a score of 21 out of 32 (the winning score was 23). Yay to absorbing (mostly) useless bits of pop culture!
Prior to Saturday I think it’d been…what twenty years since I heard The Monster Mash? I wonder how many of the younger (and mostly francophone) folk had ever heard it before…
Tomorrow they’re holding a special ceremony at work to highlight the change from a tax centre to a verification and collection centre. There will be distinguished guests. I wonder how many of them will be wearing Hallowe’en costumes or silly props? As employees we’ve been invited to do so if we want. I might break out the ol’ Ted vest but that will pretty much be it.
A new Asterix BD came out this month. I found out last week by accident when I was at Wal-Mart. Just before leaving, I glanced through their small book section and saw it on the bottom shelf. Not only that, but apparently I missed the one that came out in 2015. I haven’t read them yet, but they’re on the docket. I have to say that Didier Conrad does a good job of replicating Uderzo’s drawing style.
I think that’s about all I have to say for this week. Have a good seven all and we’ll do this all again next Monday. Carja V.
Freak out! Freak out! Ooooh yeah! It’s time for another flashback! Dig it!
Randy Savage’s best work was probably as a heel. He was definitely a bad guy when he held the Intercontinental championship (my favorite belt ever). However, he was so charismatic and athletic that it was hard to hate him so they had to turn him face twice. I think I preferred his face run, which is why the Macho Man here with the good guys.
Here’s the Big Oonch reprising the role of the Macho Fur! I really like the piece. The robe may not be sparkly enough, but I like the colouring.
Here’s the comparison to the original piece. As funny as it sounds, I wasn’t able to replicate the original pose (his arms were abnormally long in the original) which is why Oonch is now holding the belt in his right paw. I also forgot to give Oonch the beard in the original piece so I fixed that in the new one.
That’s all for this week. More wrestling highlights next Saturday!
