Hello there! Welcome back to the blog. What’s there to say this week?

I’m on the tail end of a four day weekend. It feels like I spent most of it sleeping as every time I sat down on the couch to watch ANYTHING I fell asleep. The sad part is I don’t feel rested at all. Oh well, back to work tomorrow.

I sneaked in a couple of games of Quarriors last night. That was fun.

I wanted to hit Target once before they closed doors for good here in Canada. Apparently, I missed the closing by a couple of hours. No liquidation specials for me. I found some Skylanders on sale at Toys R Us and EBGames so I didn’t come home empty handed. The Eon’s Elite figures were 66% off. I wasn’t planning on buying them but with those saving I picked up the four they had in stock (Spyro, Chop Chop, Trigger Happy and Terrafin). I’ll need to see if I can find the other four to round things out.

For those of you who don’t visit Facebook, I did a quick piece of Skitter as the Atom for a Superhero Facebook Pic Request. Here he is.

That about covers it for this week. Have a good seven and we’ll do this all again next Monday! Carja V.

Hello and good Wednesday! Let us get to the best part of Wednesday, the mash-up! WOO!

This time it’s a quick little jaunt back to the DC Universe. As always, keep your limbs inside the cabin at all times. You can get a close-up by clicking on the picture.

I struggled mightily trying to pick a character for Chae this week. Because her fur is so dark I wanted a costume that was bright for contrast and hesitatingly chose Star Girl. I’m not going to lie, after I’d finished, I wasn’t super stoked with the results. Oh well. She’s not terrible or anything, just…off.

That’s all for this week. Skitter already had his DC mash-up back with Zoë so next week is gonna be something different. Find out what next Wednesday!

Hello flashback fans! Welcome to the penultimate edition of Flashback Friday. After this week, there’s only one flashback to go. Before we get there, let’s enjoy this week’s edition.

This week is the last of the DC flashbacks. As always, click on a picture so you can see an enlarged view.

Nektara is closing the superhero theme as Wonder Bear. As I did with the other DC flashbacks, I chose a different costume for the flashback. Because they worked so well before, I went with the New 52 universe version. In all honesty, this isn’t one of my best, but I don’t think it’s horrible or anything. I just don’t like the way her bottom half turned out.

Here’s the comparison to the original mash-up. I’d always considered the original Wonder Woman mash-up to be the weakest of that theme. Even if the remake isn’t as good as I would have liked, it’s still leagues better (see what I did there?) than the original.

And that’s all for this week. Next week is the last of the Star Wars mash-ups. Come by next Friday to see who’s closing things out!

Greetings flashback fans! Welcome to another edition of Flashback Friday! Let’s dive right in!

S is for the wisdom of Solomon
H is for the strength of Hercules
A is for the stamina of Atlas
Z is for the power of Zeus
A is for the courage of Achilles
M is for the speed of Mercury

When young Billy Batson says the magic word, he’s granted these powers and transforms from a 12-year-old boy into Captain Marvel (who for legal reasons is now often just called Shazam). Now Big Oonch does too! Here he is wearing the New 52 version of the costume which I chose mostly because of the hood.

I saved a version without the lightning bolt hitting.

And here’s the comparison to the original mash-up. As you can see, the hood makes a big difference.

That’s all for this week folks. Todrick is back next week and he’s in the mood for mischief! See you next Friday for the reveal!

Hello Flashback Friday Fans. I totally spaced out this morning and forgot to post this week’s edition and I’ve been out all day. Hopefully the wait will have been worth it.

This week is a superhero week. As always click on a picture you want to see close up.

Cyran got another DC costume back in the beginning. The first was Batman and the second was the Flash. You saw Batman a few weeks ago. Now it’s time for the fastest bunny alive. To change things up, like I did for the Green Arrow flashback, I chose the costume from the current Flash TV show.

I also saved a version without the speed lines trailing him.

And here’s the comparison to the original mash-up. It was one of my favorites of that set because of the idea I had to use Cyran’s ears as a substitute for the lightning bolts on the sides of his mask. I obviously reused the idea in the remake.

That’s all for now. Next week is a G.I.JOE flashback. See you then!
