From the journal of Ardebast Raconteur:
When times are hard, some furs resort to criminal activities to get by. You can find such brigands everywhere, including, as it so happens, a pickle patch.
While travelling to the Crimson Coast, I got lost (it happens even to me sometimes) and found myself in a pickle patch. “At least I can treat myself to a pickle or two,” I told myself in consolation. Just as I was about to help myself, I was accosted by a pack of thieves. They emerged from the brush, brandishing their weapons and urging me to choose between my Shinies and my life. The choice seemed simple enough at the time. I gave the bandits what little I had and they let me go.
Muggings aren’t all that unusual so that should have been the end of it. “But what a curious place for a mugging,” I said to myself. Surely there were better places to wait to accost hapless travelers. I needed to know more. I inquired locally and it so happens that this particular pickle patch has long been home to bandits. The rangers will periodically run them out, but they always make their way back, drawn by the easy food source. The local furs have learned to avoid the patch.
Perhaps it never occurred to the bandits that they could probably make a better living harvesting and selling the pickles. I wasn’t about to return to tell them, however.

The Pickle Patch Bandits were intended to be throw away characters. They show up for one sequence and then you never see them again. Well, they keep popping up. First, it was the Ronin Warriors mash-ups, and now they’re back in the Funnies. Welcome to the expanded cast!
